Aug 2016 Canning and Dehydrating Food

Roma, Big Mama Roma, and Celebrity tomatoes

Blanch

Andrew helped Karlyn remove skins from tomatoes

Filled bottles with whole tomatoes and tomato juice (added lemon juice and salt to each bottle)

Water bath tomatoes

Aug 27, 2016 18 bottles of whole tomatoes

First time to dry tomato skins. Karlyn will find out if its worth it or not.

(Once dried blend into fine powder. It makes tomato powder.)

Aug 14, 2016 Sun-dried tomatoes. Except Karlyn didn't use the sun to dry tomatoes. :)

Aug 25, 2016 Homemade V8 juice. Bryce and Karlyn worked together to make this juice. We used peanut butter lids on jars because we did not water bath the 2 quarts and 1 pint. We placed in fridge to drink it.

Aug 22, 2016 Bryce and Karlyn added some plum juice to our homemade grape juice for Elizabeth to drink.

Aug 11, 2016 Andrew learning how to make tomato juice. Andrew loved spinning the handle. I think we made 5 quarts of tomato juice. Elizabeth had fun watching. Eli had fun playing with toys. I'm blessed to have wonderful parents.
